Developer — I write and verify the content on AmtsDeutschland
I am a developer and I run AmtsDeutschland. I have checked every figure, every deadline and every fee on these pages myself against the law in force before it appears here. This page tells you how I go about it — and what I am explicitly not.
Always in the same order, and always before it is published.
For every deadline, every fee and every amount I look up the provision that sets it and read the subsection myself — for federal law on gesetze-im-internet.de. Secondary sources contradict each other more often than you would think; in that case the wording of the provision governs, not the summary.
Where an amount follows from a formula, I derive it rather than copy it: Kindergeld (child benefit) from the ratio of the allowances under § 66 Abs. 3 of the Income Tax Act (Einkommensteuergesetz, EStG), the earnings point from the average earnings in Annex 1 to Social Code Book VI (Sozialgesetzbuch Sechstes Buch, SGB VI). Official tables serve me as a cross-check, never as a starting point. If the two do not reach the same result, nothing is published until I know why.
Many fees are not uniform nationwide. Where a by-law decides — dog tax (Hundesteuer) is the clearest example — I do not give an invented average but tell you where to look up your own rate. A figure that is wrong for your area helps less than no figure at all.
Every page states when it was last checked and which provision it relies on. For values that change regularly — contribution rates, interest rates, allowances — automatic checks run that raise an alert as soon as a figure becomes too old or contradicts another page. If you find an error, that is the message I most like to receive: write to the editorial team.
This belongs here just as clearly as everything else.
